EUFLR timeline
The calendar has two dates left. What the Regulation adds to it is a set of durations — 30 working days, 30 working days, nine months, at least 30 working days — that only begin when an authority acts.
The Regulation entered into force on 13 December 2024. Member States designated their competent authorities by 14 December 2025. The Commission published its Guidelines and opened the Forced Labour Single Portal on 30 June 2026, and the Guidelines appeared in the Official Journal on 3 September 2026 as C/2026/4637. Ahead: Member States notify their penalty rules by 14 December 2026, and the prohibition applies from 14 December 2027, when the information submission point opens and the first preliminary phases can begin. The four clocks are different in kind. The operator's 30 working days to answer a request open when the request is received; the authority's 30 working days to decide open when the reply is received; the nine months to a decision open when an investigation is opened; the at-least-30-working-day compliance period opens when a decision is notified. Until the event, there is nothing to count down from, and a product that shows days remaining on a window that has not opened is guessing.
