PPWR vs EUDR
Both are directly applicable EU regulations, both reach companies placing goods on the EU market, and both create documentation an authority can demand. Underneath that, they are built on different ideas.
EUDR is a risk regulation. It asks you to assess the risk that a commodity is linked to deforestation, mitigate it, and file a Due Diligence Statement into a central EU information system. Risk scores, plot geometry and country benchmarking are all natural to it. PPWR has no operator-side risk concept at all: its obligations are binary, so a score would invent a legal idea that does not exist. It also has no central system — every filing is national. Carrying EUDR concepts across to PPWR produces a product that misrepresents the law, which is why our PPWR platform deliberately has no risk gauges, no geolocation and no submission endpoint.
