PPWR recycled content

Article 7 sets minimum recycled content for plastic packaging — 30 % for contact-sensitive PET in the first tier, rising to 50 % by 2040 — and leaves the calculation and verification method to an implementing act that has not been adopted.

The date is not 1 January 2030. It is the later of that date and three years after the Article 7(8) act enters into force, and that act was itself due on 31 December 2026. Storing 2030 as the deadline is a guess presented as a fact, and it errs in the direction that understates your remaining time. Supplier figures are kept as inputs with their chain-of-custody scheme named, and are deliberately not promoted to verified content — third-country equivalence under Article 7(10) is pending as well.
